Wind gusts, which could reach up to 71 km/h according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), have prompted the decision to temporarily close these green spaces. In addition to El Retiro, the Capricho park, the Rosaleda of Parque del Oeste, the Quinta de Fuente del Berro, the Quinta de los Molinos, and the Quinta Torre Arias will also remain closed.
These facilities will reopen once any potential damage to trees has been assessed and visitor safety is guaranteed. It is expected that the facilities may reopen to the public tomorrow. The City Council will provide updates on the reopening through its official channels, including the 22 information panels located at the entrances to El Retiro.
