The Community of Madrid has announced a significant 70% increase in funding for the educational guidance service in primary education, aimed at private-subsidized schools in the region. This measure will benefit over 207,000 students across 430 educational centers.
The Governing Council has received a report detailing the increase in these resources. For the upcoming 2026/27 academic year, the total investment will reach 10.4 million euros, a considerable rise from the 6.1 million invested in the current academic year.
Driven by the Regional Ministry of Education, Science, and Universities, this initiative will equalize the frequency of guidance service intervention in private-subsidized schools with that already received by public infant and primary schools through the Educational and Psychopedagogical Guidance Teams. The current weekly attention days will serve as a reference.
The minimum number of intervention days funded by the regional executive will double, increasing from one to two days per week. Furthermore, the maximum weekly intervention days will rise from two to three, representing an increase of over 50% compared to the interventions subsidized to date.
Educational, psychopedagogical, and professional guidance is considered a key factor in enhancing the quality of teaching, improving learning outcomes, providing specialized advice to educational centers, and ensuring adequate attention to diversity throughout a student's schooling.
