The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has authorized the public employment offer, through a competitive selection process, which will allow the incorporation of 1,395 new professionals into the region's six public universities. Of these positions, 1,014 will be for teaching and research staff, while the remaining 381 will be for management, administration, and services technicians.
The distribution of these positions by university places the Complutense University of Madrid at the forefront with 400 assigned posts. It is followed by the Polytechnic University with 366, the Autonomous University with 272, the Rey Juan Carlos University with 168, the University of Alcalá with 101, and the Carlos III University with 88.
This employment offer, promoted by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Universities, is based on the replacement rate, which allows for the coverage of up to 120% of vacancies in priority sectors and 110% in others. Additionally, 15% of the positions are reserved for doctoral researchers who meet the scientific and technological quality requirements of the Ramón y Cajal Program.
The Madrid university system is one of the most important in Europe, offering over 1,800 official degrees to more than 300,000 students.
This initiative is part of a recent historic agreement signed by the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, with university rectors, which includes a multi-year funding of nearly 14.8 billion euros for the 2026-2031 period. The Madrid university system, comprising 20 public and private institutions, serves over 300,000 students, representing 20% of the national total.
