The Community of Madrid will allocate 5.7 million euros to continue three contracts for the residential care of 53 minors under its guardianship, with a focus on those with disabilities and behavioral issues, through to the end of 2028.

The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has approved an investment of 5.7 million euros to ensure the residential care of 53 minors under its guardianship. These funds will cover the period from January 2027 to December 2028 and will be distributed across three contracts for facilities located in the capital, Getafe, and Pinto.
The first contract, with an allocation exceeding 3.8 million euros, will be dedicated to the residential care of 33 children and young people with moderate or severe disabilities and associated behavioral disorders. This service will be provided at a facility located in the municipality of Getafe.
The second agreement, with a budget of 1.1 million euros, will maintain 10 places for minors with a similar profile in a center located in the Madrid district of Carabanchel. In these centers, minors receive healthcare, educational support, and social accompaniment, always aiming to foster family ties and, where possible, their return to their original environment. Furthermore, they are prepared for adult life with training adapted to their specific needs.
Finally, a budget of over 669,000 euros has been approved for the comprehensive care of 10 minors in a home located in Pinto. This facility offers accommodation, maintenance, schooling, and support for healthcare services, replicating a family-like environment.
The regional administration currently cares for approximately 4,000 children and adolescents under some form of protection measure. Of these, 60% live with foster families, and the remaining 40% are in residential centers.
