The agreement represents an 11% increase compared to the previous year's funding and aims to ensure the best care for citizens in this area. The collaboration between both administrations, in place since 2014, covers essential services such as home help, teleassistance, and care in municipal day centers and residences.
Thanks to this funding, 10 million hours of home assistance are expected to be provided to over 28,000 citizens. Additionally, teleassistance will reach more than 48,000 Madrid residents for prevention and monitoring tasks, while nearly 4,000 elderly individuals will receive care in day centers and municipal residences managed by the council.
This cooperation addresses the high concentration of dependent individuals in the capital, who account for almost half of the regional total. In other municipalities of the Community, the management of these services falls entirely under the regional government.
Currently, the System for Autonomy and Dependency Care serves over 218,500 Madrid residents with 317,000 benefits, including care within the family environment and personal assistance.
