The decision, made at a Government Board meeting, was announced by the deputy mayor and municipal spokesperson, who emphasized that this extension guarantees crucial housing support. In addition to accommodation, the program provides comprehensive social accompaniment, designed to help beneficiaries achieve full autonomy.
The program offers various housing modalities and social intervention methodologies, adapted to the specific needs of each user. Currently, it has 520 places distributed in shared housing and hotel establishments. During 2025, a total of 610 people were assisted through this initiative.
“"The City Council will allocate 10.5 million euros to the extension of this program, which guarantees housing support to these people while providing social accompaniment to help them achieve full autonomy."
To access this service, beneficiaries must commit to actively participate in an individualized social intervention plan. Once this condition is accepted, the City Council provides accommodation for the necessary time until users can access housing autonomously. The program also supports users in their search for these residential alternatives.
Furthermore, economic support is provided to cover the basic needs of users without income, while they access regulated financial benefits. There is also a fund aimed at supporting families with expenses derived from their transition to independent living. This aid is granted to families who have met the objectives set in the social intervention to consolidate their autonomy.
The extended contract is divided into four lines of action. Lot 1 focuses on single-person households and couples without dependent minors in situations of economic vulnerability and socio-residential exclusion. In 2025, 320 people were assisted, and 60% managed to regain their autonomy. Lots 2 and 3 address families with minors who have lost their habitual residence, offering them support in finding alternative housing. In 2025, 256 people from 75 different families (including 138 minors) were assisted, with 78% achieving an autonomous exit, mainly through the free rental market. Finally, Lot 4 covers the accommodation and care of single-parent families in a special situation of residential exclusion, assisting 34 people from 13 family units in 2025, of whom 53% regained their socio-residential autonomy.
