The exhibition, part of IlustraweekMadrid 2026, offers an immersive journey through illustration, where each piece is accompanied by an original story. The delegate of Culture, Tourism and Sport, Marta Rivera de la Cruz, inaugurated this initiative, which aims to provide new visual perspectives on Madrid.
Curated by El Duende magazine, the exhibition will run until May 3rd and stands out for its visual and auditory itinerary. Icons such as Gloria Fuertes, María Malasaña, the Plaza Mayor, the Cuesta de Moyano, the Teleférico, the viaduct, and cocido madrileño are reinterpreted by the artists with a contemporary vision.
Among the fourteen participating creators are Lady Desidia, María Hesse, Adolfo Serra, Poliño Trapalleiro, Marina Hernández Ávila, Nuria Cuesta, Manuel Marsol, Jesús Gabán, Marta Ponce, Puño, Marta Chicote, Elena Hormiga, and Albertoyos. Additionally, the exhibition includes an illustrated ceramic tableware set, created by Nuria Blanco.
Each illustration is complemented by an original story, written by Rubén Arribas, co-director of El Duende. These narratives are voiced by renowned dubbing actor Claudio Serrano, known for being the Spanish voice of actors like Ben Affleck and Christian Bale in the Batman saga. This auditory element transforms the visit into an immersive experience, blending illustration with storytelling.
The exhibition returns to the Espacio Cultural Serrería Belga after the success of its first edition in 2025. IlustraweekMadrid 2026, the illustration festival it is part of, runs until May 3rd, covering over fifty venues across the city and bringing together more than a hundred artists. Admission to the exhibition is free, with opening hours from Tuesday to Friday from 11 AM to 8 PM, Saturdays from 12 PM to 8 PM, and Sundays from 12 PM to 6 PM.
