The Madrid Performing Arts Fair (MADferia) has extended the deadline until 2:00 PM on June 30 for theater, dance, circus, and live arts companies to submit their proposals. The 23rd edition of this event will be held in Madrid and San Lorenzo de El Escorial between January 25 and 29, 2027.
The call is open to professional companies wishing to participate with small and medium-format shows, suitable for adult, children, or youth audiences. The organization aims to enrich the program with diverse, quality works from across Spain.
Selection will prioritize shows that have not performed more than six times outside their autonomous community of origin and have not been programmed in other generalist state fairs. Creations premiered from June 1, 2025, will be particularly valued, thus favoring more recent proposals.
To participate, companies must complete an application form and provide all required documentation, including a full video of the performance. Those that do not submit all requested materials or fail to meet the established requirements may be excluded from the evaluation process without appeal.
Only professional companies constituted as businesses, self-employed individuals, or under any other recognized legal structure for professional entrepreneurs can apply. Furthermore, they must demonstrate compliance with obligations regarding labor contracts, occupational risk prevention, and civil liability insurance, which are essential requirements for participation.
Selected companies will receive financial compensation that varies according to the number of performers and the location of their headquarters, whether inside or outside the Community of Madrid. The organization also commits to providing technical support for the staging of the performances and facilitating accommodation and maintenance as established in the participation guidelines.
The results of the selection process will be communicated to all participating companies via email by mid-October, allowing sufficient time for the preparation of the performances.
