The exhibition, titled Lucio Blázquez, tabernero mayor del Reino (Lucio Blázquez, Royal Tavern Keeper), serves as a tribute to one of the most emblematic figures in Madrid's social life. This marks the sixteenth such event at the venue, with the opening scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Nikon House Madrid, located on Reina Mercedes Street.
Curated by photographer Bernardo Paz, the exhibition provides an intimate and documentary perspective on Lucio Blázquez, who over the years has become a popular icon and a privileged witness to Madrid's recent history. The images capture daily scenes and public moments illustrating his relationship with the city and the spheres that shaped his life, including hospitality, festivities, bullfighting, and the cultural and social scene.
The exhibition offers a carefully curated selection of images captured by renowned photojournalists who, over decades, have portrayed Lucio in his essence. These works are complemented by unpublished photographs from Casa Lucio's historical archive, allowing visitors to glimpse the more intimate and personal side of the host who made "huevos estrellados" an international icon.
The exhibition not only chronicles the evolution of a family business, Casa Lucio, into an institution, but also documents the many personalities from politics, culture, and entertainment who have graced its tables. Photographers featured include Fernando Álvarez, Lalo Álvarez, Chema Barroso, Miguel Córdoba, Antonio Cuenca, D&D, Dusko Despotovic, Jesús Feria, Luis María González, Bernardo Paz, Ana Ruiz, Jesús Umbría, and José Ignacio Viseras, alongside the Casa Lucio Collection.
The Nikon Gallery, a well-established venue in Madrid's cultural circuit, utilizes photography as a tool for memory and urban storytelling. The exhibition will be open to the public from April 17, 2026, with the inauguration attended by family, friends, and representatives from the capital's cultural and gastronomic sectors.
