The Las Ventas Bullring will host the inaugural edition of 'Del Campo Madrileño a tu Mesa' (From the Madrid Countryside to Your Table), a series of local markets promoted by Asaja Madrid, aiming to connect the region's agricultural producers directly with consumers, starting on April 25.

This April, Madrid will launch its own short-cycle producers' market, an initiative named 'Del Campo Madrileño a tu Mesa'. Spearheaded by Asaja Madrid and supported by the Community of Madrid, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and the European Union, its primary goal is to provide citizens with direct access to products grown or produced entirely within the Madrid region, bypassing intermediaries.
The inaugural event will take place at the iconic Las Ventas Bullring on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Over twenty producers are confirmed for this first gathering, offering a wide range of products of Madrid origin, including fruits, vegetables, legumes, cured meats, cheeses, pickles, meats, oils, honey, pastries, craft beers, and wines.
Beyond direct sales, 'Del Campo Madrileño a tu Mesa' seeks to foster a genuine meeting point between producers and consumers, promoting transparency in food origins and a food model that reduces the environmental footprint associated with transportation. Each stall will feature a producer who can explain firsthand how and where their products were grown or made. The cycle also aims to revitalize the rural economy of the Community of Madrid and raise awareness about the benefits of supporting small local producers, such as product freshness and reduced environmental impact.
The day at Las Ventas will also feature a program of complementary activities to enhance the visitor experience. There will be live musical performances throughout the day and two cooking demonstrations ('showcookings'): one in the morning focusing on savory recipes and another in the afternoon featuring sweet proposals, offering ideas for utilizing regional products.
Activities for children are also planned, including educational workshops. In the morning, 'From the Farm to the Glass of Milk', and in the afternoon, 'The Wonderful World of Honey', where participants will learn about the origin of these everyday foods. A face-painting workshop will also be available. Pre-registration is required for the children's workshops due to limited spaces.
Following its launch at Las Ventas, 'Del Campo Madrileño a tu Mesa' will continue its journey across the Community of Madrid. Upcoming stops include Arroyomolinos on May 23, Boadilla del Monte on June 7, Navacerrada on July 18 (during evening hours due to summer temperatures), and the Pradera de San Isidro in Madrid capital on September 12. These five strategically distributed events aim to reach residents in various areas of the Community and establish the cycle as a benchmark for local consumption in Madrid.
