This data, released by the National Statistics Institute (INE), places the region 2.8 points below the national average, which reached 9.2%. Thus, Madrid's industrial progress is slowing down compared to the country's general trend.
However, in the year-to-date cumulative, industrial turnover in the region has seen a 5% increase. This percentage surpasses the national average for the same period by 0.8 points, which stood at 4.2%. This positive annual performance contrasts with the June figure, where Madrid lagged behind the state average.
At the regional level, the industrial turnover index showed increases in 14 autonomous communities during June, while it decreased in the remaining three. The largest increases were observed in Andalusia (20.9%), the Region of Murcia (14.6%), and Castilla-La Mancha (14.3%). On the other hand, the most significant decreases were recorded in the Principality of Asturias (-9.4%), the Foral Community of Navarre (-7.8%), and the Balearic Islands (-5.4%).
