The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has approved an investment of 36.7 million euros to modernize the advanced telecare service for people in situations of dependency.

The contract, effective from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2028, represents a budget increase of over 9% compared to the previous tender. This model aims to promote personal autonomy through the use of 400,000 smart devices.
Technological improvements include motion sensors, fall detectors, home safety alerts for smoke or gas, and electronic medication dispensers. Furthermore, a unique digital platform will be implemented to centralize each user's Individual Intervention Plan.
The service, currently assisting 50,867 beneficiaries, will incorporate social workers and expand staff training. The new model is organized into five lots, allowing for more bases and mobile units to ensure immediate 24-hour response.
