The Dos de Mayo Festivities in Madrid, commemorating the 1808 uprising, will feature free performances by Judeline and Alcalá Norte at the Puente del Rey esplanade, marking the beginning of the musical program.

With just over two weeks remaining until the start of the Dos de Mayo Festivities, which commemorate the people of Madrid's uprising against French occupation in 1808, the first names for the musical lineup have been revealed. The Community of Madrid, organizer of the event, has confirmed the participation of two prominent artists who will offer free concerts.
The Madrid-based group Alcalá Norte, originally from Ciudad Lineal, was one of the first to confirm their presence. Through their social media, the band has been dropping hints about their performance, which will ultimately take place on Saturday, May 2nd at 9:30 PM on the Puente del Rey esplanade. They even posted an enigmatic tweet in Greek that, translated, announced the date and time of their concert.
Joining Alcalá Norte is the artist from Cádiz, Lara Fernández Castrelo, professionally known as Judeline. The singer will perform on Friday, May 1st at 9:30 PM, also at the Puente del Rey esplanade, next to Casa de Campo. This stop in Madrid is part of her world tour, which began on November 2nd in Brazil and will conclude on August 28th in Lisbon. Judeline is expected to perform some of her most popular songs such as Zarcillos de plata, Canijo, 2+1, or Romero Santo.
Both concerts will have free admission until capacity is reached. While these are the first confirmed details, the Community of Madrid will announce the full program of festivities in the coming days, which traditionally include historical reenactments, zarzuela, and Goyaesque folklore.
