The number of international tourists visiting the Community of Madrid in May reached 1,031,693, representing a 17.44% increase compared to the same month last year. The total spending by these visitors amounted to 2,174 million euros, 22.2% more than in May of the previous year.
The average stay for tourists in the region was 7.2 days, an 11.76% increase from the previous year. The daily spending per tourist stood at 293 euros, exceeding the national average of 214 euros by 79 euros, although it was 6.88% less than in May 2025.
The average spending per person in the region was 2,107 euros, an increase of 4.07% compared to May of the previous year and 786 euros more than the national average of 1,441 euros.
In the year-to-date total, the region has received 4,129,193 tourists, an 8.48% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The total spending generated by these visitors so far is 8,147 million euros, a 12.42% rise compared to the first four months of 2025.
