The councilor for Hortaleza, David Pérez, unveiled the plaque for the Héctor Alterio park, a new designation for a green area located near the Pinar del Rey forest park. This tribute honors the renowned Hispano-Argentine actor, who had a close relationship with the district. The ceremony was attended by the actor's children, Ernesto and Malena Alterio, among other family members.
This initiative, approved by the Plenary of the municipal council on February 19th at the proposal of the Socialist Municipal Group (PSOE), fulfills the institutional commitment to «preserve the memory of figures whose cultural and human contributions have left a significant mark on the city». This is according to the District Board, which highlighted Héctor Alterio's significant influence both in Spain and in Latin America, as recalled by Pérez.
The Héctor Alterio park is situated between the roundabout of San Luis avenue, the Gran Vía de Hortaleza, Pinar del Rey street, and Pobla de Segur street, up to the roundabout of Luis Rosales. This designation recognizes the artistic legacy of one of the great figures in Spanish-language theater, cinema, and television.
A good person, a good neighbor, and an excellent actor
In the councilor's words, this tribute honors an actor who resided in Hortaleza for several decades, living his daily life and actively participating in the social fabric of the neighborhood.
