Florentino Pérez has been re-elected as the president of Real Madrid until 2030 after winning the elections held this Sunday in Valdebebas, securing 65% of the votes against his rival, Enrique Riquelme's, 35%.

The electoral day, which took place between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM, saw 21,741 votes cast for Florentino Pérez's candidacy and 11,814 for Enrique Riquelme's. This outcome solidifies the current president's tenure at the helm of the club until 2030.
This victory marks Pérez's sixth consecutive term in his second stint as the club's top executive. The elections, which the president himself brought forward on May 12th after publicly denouncing "orchestrated campaigns" against him, extend his leadership by an additional year beyond the scheduled expiration of his previous term in 2029.
Valdebebas has hosted the fourth electoral contest in which Florentino Pérez has participated. After an initial defeat in 1995 to Ramón Mendoza, he successfully won in 2000 against Lorenzo Sanz and was re-elected in 2004. Since his return in 2009, he had governed unopposed until these elections.
Enrique Riquelme submitted his candidacy within a tight timeframe following the early election announcement. During the campaign, Pérez criticized his rival's lack of experience, stating that "being president of Real Madrid is not improvised."
Pérez's new project includes José Mourinho as the first team's coach and market targets such as French center-back Ibrahima Konaté and Dutch full-back Denzel Dumfries. An investment of at least 150 million euros is also being considered for a high-profile signing.
Pérez's continuity is underpinned by a record of 66 titles across the football and basketball sections, in addition to the significant renovation of the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. However, the debate surrounding the club's ownership model remains open.
For his part, Riquelme had proposed an alternative project that included the 'Ciudad del Socio' (Fan City) and the potential signing of players like Erling Haaland and Rodri Hernández, as well as attempting to persuade Jürgen Klopp to manage Real Madrid.
The vote count, which lasted for several hours, was marked by issues with postal votes, with Riquelme's campaign denouncing the invalidation of hundreds of votes due to double stamping.
The confirmation of victory came shortly after midnight, initially celebrated with a video from José Mourinho. Subsequently, Florentino Pérez addressed the media and supporters at the Hotel Eurobuilding in Madrid, accompanied by board members such as José Ángel Sánchez.
