The fire started shortly after 8:30 PM in a property located at number 5 on Lola Flores street. Thirteen units from Madrid Firefighters and six from the Community Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, as it was a Joint Action Zone (ZAC).
According to Emergencias Madrid, the fire had several active hotspots, and the flames spread up the building's facade. The crews managed to prevent its extension to other areas and finally extinguished the blaze.
During the intervention, firefighters were supported by drones from the Municipal Police, which provided aerial images of the affected building. Municipal Police officers proceeded to evacuate the building while firefighting operations were underway.
As a consequence of the fire, Samur-Civil Protection attended to a 40-year-old woman and a firefighter for mild smoke inhalation. Both received medical assistance at the scene and did not require hospitalization.
