A fire that broke out this Monday in a home on Calle Salorino, in the Madrid district of Latina, resulted in fourteen people being injured, one of them seriously, according to Emergencias Madrid.
The fire started, for reasons still under investigation, on a third-floor apartment and the flames spread up the facade. The apartment where the fire began was completely destroyed, while smoke reached two other apartments in the same building.
Ten units from the Bomberos del Ayuntamiento de Madrid (Madrid City Firefighters) were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters evacuated numerous residents, extinguished the fire, and subsequently carried out ventilation and inspection of the building.

SAMUR (Madrid's emergency medical service) paramedics treated a total of 14 people. One individual, a man over 30 years old, was transferred in serious condition to Hospital La Paz due to smoke inhalation. Another person, a 90-year-old woman, was evacuated as a precaution for smoke inhalation symptoms, although her condition was not initially considered serious. The remaining individuals, treated for anxiety attacks and smoke inhalation, were discharged at the scene.
The Policía Municipal de Madrid (Madrid Municipal Police) also intervened in the incident. The causes of the fire are unknown.
