The administration and work methods of ESMASA, Alcorcón's Municipal Services Company, have been prominent in recent days at two specialized forums focused on public services and waste management. The entity participated in both professional events with Santiago Anes Benito, general coordinator of the City Services area for the Alcorcón City Council and a member of ESMASA's Management Committee.
One of the events was the Urban Waste Management Conference of the Community of Madrid, organized by Madrid Diario on June 16 at the Palace of Infante Don Luis in Boadilla del Monte. During the meeting, Santiago Anes took part in the round table titled ‘How waste is managed in the Community of Madrid: model, costs, and territorial reality,’ alongside institutional representatives and professionals involved in waste management and municipal services from various regional councils.
ESMASA's management model has also gained recognition beyond the Community of Madrid. On June 18, Santiago Anes spoke as a panelist at the 24th edition of the Summer Courses at Pablo de Olavide University, held in Seville. His presentation, 'Internalizing public services: a practical experience,' was part of the workshop ‘The public in dispute: management, control, and rights in public employment,’ focusing on explaining ESMASA's management model and exchanging experiences with attendees.
These participations add to the public company's presence at TECMA, the International Urbanism and Environment Fair, held between June 9 and 11. ESMASA had its own space within the area of ANEPMA (National Association of Public Environmental Companies), where its professionals shared experiences and made contacts with representatives from other sectors.
“"At ESMASA, we join forces daily to ensure Alcorcón functions as well as possible, always with transparency and rigor. For us, it is an honor to present our management model and share experiences and knowledge whenever invited, as we consider it a very beneficial and highly enriching practice."
