The Sala de Arte Joven of the Community of Madrid is hosting the exhibition 'Nueva-Vieja Pintura' until July 19th, featuring works by seven emerging artists to reflect on the role of painting today.

The exhibition, curated by Andrea Celda and Lu Millet, is part of the 'Se busca comisario' program, an initiative by the regional Government aimed at supporting young art professionals and facilitating their entry into Madrid's exhibition circuit.
The exhibition's route proposes different interpretations of current pictorial practice, structured around fundamental concepts in the evolution of modern and contemporary art: formalism, historicism, figuration, and conceptualism.
The works by Irene Anguita, Álvaro del Fresno, Andrés Izquierdo, Esther Gatón, Iris Sanmartín, Raúl Silva, and María Tinaut demonstrate how traditional painting codes remain relevant in current creation, albeit reinterpreted from new perspectives and contemporary visual languages.
Admission to the exhibition is free and will be available until July 19th. Additionally, the Sala de Arte Joven has organized complementary activities such as artist talks, guided tours, and workshops for families.
The 'Se busca comisario' initiative, established in 2009, has featured projects by over fifty curators and approximately one hundred and sixty artists throughout its editions.
