Construction works of a new urban park in San Fernando de Henares.

The Community of Madrid has confirmed that construction of the new park located on the former El Pilar complex site in San Fernando de Henares is now over 85% complete.

The project, covering an area of more than 12,000 square meters, aims to improve public space and mobility within the municipality. Planned facilities include children's play areas, calisthenics zones, pedestrian paths, and an energy-efficient lighting system.
The park's design incorporates the preservation of existing trees and the creation of nearly 2,800 square meters of walkways, with a significant portion shaded by pergolas. Additionally, multi-purpose spaces for social and cultural events have been included alongside recreational areas.
During construction, remains of the former Casa de la Administración and the historic textile factory were discovered. These findings will be integrated into the final design through information panels to preserve the industrial heritage of San Fernando de Henares.
Simultaneously, urban rehabilitation is underway on five nearby streets, involving pavement replacement and accessibility improvements across 10,900 square meters. This intervention represents an investment of over 3.5 million euros.
