The incident occurred around 4:30 PM at the intersection of Alcalá Street and Miguel Yuste Street, in the San Blas district. The Madrid City Council firefighters had to intervene to rescue the driver of the private car, who was trapped inside the vehicle.
SAMUR medical services attended to the eight affected individuals and transported them to various hospitals in the capital. The driver of the private car was evacuated to La Paz Hospital with a potentially serious prognosis due to a possible hip fracture.
The two National Police officers involved suffered minor bruises and were taken to Infanta Leonor Hospital. The VTC driver was transported to Ramón y Cajal Hospital with several contusions, while the other four occupants of the VTC were treated at La Princesa Hospital for minor injuries.
The Madrid Municipal Police has launched an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident.
