The Centro Cultural Paco Rabal will soon host DROM, a dance performance created and directed by Cristiane Azem. The work stages the journey of the Roma people from India to Spain, crossing diverse cultures and landscapes such as Rajasthan, Persia, Turkey, the Balkans, Central Europe, Egypt, and France.
Music is a central element that marks changes in rhythm and atmosphere, accompanying the transformation of dance along the path. The work uses the ancestral wheel of the Roma flag (Chakra of Ashok) as a visual symbol, connecting scenes and underscoring the idea of transit, resistance, and cultural continuity.
DROM premiered in 2025 in The Hague (Theater De Regentes) as part of the commemoration of the 600 years of the Roma People's arrival in Spain. On this occasion, under the motto Origin and legacy, Cristiane Azem re-stages the piece in Madrid, which will also include an exhibition and a colloquium.

The performances will take place on October 2, 3, and 4, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Tickets are priced at €15, with reduced rates of €13 for those over 65, youth card holders, unemployed, and large families.
