A driver was arrested in Madrid by the Municipal Police with a shipment of almost nine kilograms of hashish in his vehicle, following a fortuitous intervention due to improper parking in the Fuencarral-El Pardo district.

The incident occurred on April 16, around 10:00 PM, on Sarriá Street. Officers from the Madrid Municipal Police observed a VTC-licensed vehicle poorly parked on the roadway, obstructing traffic.
As the driver made no attempt to move the vehicle, officers approached to identify him. It was at this point that a strong scent of narcotics emanating from inside the car prompted a preventive search.

During the inspection, officers discovered 90 individual hashish packages, protected with transparent film and hidden in several supermarket bags, on the passenger seat. The total weight of the seized substance amounted to 8.8 kilograms. Each package featured a distinctive logo.
In addition to the drugs, a bag containing over 600 euros in banknotes was seized. Given this evidence, the driver was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a public health offense. The vehicle was removed from the roadway with the assistance of a municipal tow truck and taken to a depot for safekeeping.
