The 'Distrito 11' initiative, promoted as a cultural brand for the district, commemorated its second anniversary with the presence of municipal officials. This project has successfully brought together over 450 artists in various studios, galleries, workshops, and creative spaces, establishing itself as a key reference point in the city.
During the celebratory gala, the delegate for Culture, Tourism, and Sport of the Madrid City Council and the councilor for Carabanchel highlighted the project's significance. Both emphasized how 'Distrito 11' has become a cultural benchmark for the Spanish capital.
“"Carabanchel has consolidated itself as one of Madrid's great creative hubs, and 'Distrito 11' is the best example of how culture can generate identity, revitalize neighborhoods, and open opportunities for creators."
The Carabanchel councilor announced the implementation of new formats to further boost the district's culture and support its creators. He also confirmed that a recognition gala for local artists would be organized, according to information provided by the City Council.
Currently, 'Distrito 11' hosts over 450 artists, who carry out their work in a wide variety of spaces including studios, art galleries, rehearsal rooms, workshops, design spaces, architecture studios, and cultural centers spread throughout the neighborhood.
