Madrid Municipal Police officers have arrested four men in the Fortuna neighborhood, Carabanchel district, for their alleged membership in a gang specializing in forceful robberies at construction sites.

The operation took place on June 11 during a routine security check. Officers observed a van that, upon noticing the police presence, considerably reduced its speed, prompting them to signal it towards the control point.
During the vehicle's identification, it was discovered that it lacked mandatory insurance and a valid technical inspection (ITV). Furthermore, officers found two individuals hidden in the van's cargo area.
The nervous demeanor of the occupants and inconsistencies in their explanations led to a more thorough inspection of the vehicle. Inside, gloves, tools, and various construction machinery were found. The occupants claimed ignorance regarding the material's origin and stated the van had been lent to them.
Subsequent investigations determined that the machinery and tools, valued between 15,000 and 18,000 euros, had been stolen. Documentation from a supposed construction company, which turned out to be fictitious, was also found.
Further investigation linked the vehicle and some of the recovered material to several robberies committed at construction sites in San Agustín del Guadalix. The four occupants were arrested as alleged perpetrators of property crimes, believed to be part of a specialized robbery gang.
