Madrid Municipal Police officers arrested a 48-year-old woman accused of threatening a relative and her two children with a knife in a Puente de Vallecas apartment.

Officers from the Madrid Municipal Police have arrested a 48-year-old woman for alleged serious threats. The incident occurred inside a shared residence on Calle Rafael Fernández Hijicos, in the Puente de Vallecas district.
The intervention began around 8:30 AM on Wednesday, July 1st, after a call reported that an armed tenant had been threatening her cohabitants for hours: a female relative and her two minor children.
The three victims, fearing for their physical safety, took refuge in a bedroom. When police patrols arrived, the affected individuals threw keys from a window to facilitate immediate entry into the apartment.
Officers entered the property carrying tasers as a precautionary measure. Upon noticing the police presence, the suspect locked herself in another room. After a mediation process, the woman voluntarily opened the door.
Upon entering the room, officers observed that it had very poor living and sanitary conditions. The woman, a Spanish national, was formally arrested. Initial inquiries suggest she may have mental health issues.
