The political party Más Madrid has started to shape its candidacy for the upcoming municipal elections in May 2027 in the Spanish capital. The first prominent figure to join the list is Daniel Ayuso, a 46-year-old resident of Vallecas, known for his popularity on social media, who will occupy the second position on the electoral ballot led by Rita Maestre.
The announcement of Ayuso's entry into politics comes after the party defined its main candidacies and concluded internal debates. His public communication style, characterized by direct and vehement speeches on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, is reminiscent of other political figures. In his videos, Ayuso has urged Mayor Almeida to remove the "fucking Scalextric" from the Puente de Vallecas and has starred in a series of runs through neighborhoods of varying purchasing power, such as El Viso or AZCA, and even past the PP headquarters on Génova.
These videos, in which Daniel Ayuso traverses different areas of the city, went viral as a response to recordings by influencers in lower-income neighborhoods. Ayuso, with a background as an administrative assistant, currently works as an advisor in Más Madrid's municipal group and was previously a civil servant at the City Council of the capital, an entity he now seeks to represent as a councilor.
This appointment to a significant position on the lists follows Más Madrid's recent completion of a campaign to directly engage with citizens, having knocked on 5,000 doors to understand the problems of Madrid's residents firsthand. In a video published to document this initiative, featuring the main candidates, Daniel Ayuso's voice was heard in a more prominent role for the first time.
