BBVA's Business division has presented a new program in Madrid, 'Smartshoring Mexico', designed to facilitate the international expansion of Spanish corporations.

BBVA gathered executives from large companies, operators from Latin America, and technical representatives from Turkey in Madrid to analyze the investment attractiveness of the Mexican market and formalize the launch of its new sector program, named 'Smartshoring Mexico'. This operational framework aims to support Madrid-based and national corporations in their foreign development phases, from legal incorporation to credit support for factory establishment.
The banking entity highlights a dynamism above the average in its corporate client portfolio compared to Spanish foreign trade. While national exports outside the European Union account for 2.8% of sales, this figure rises to 4.6% within the firm's portfolio. In the last fiscal year, the Business division granted 19.085 billion euros in foreign trade credits, supporting over 3,400 companies.
Jaime Sáenz de Tejada, global head of the Business Banking segment, reaffirmed the brand's leading position in the North American market, holding a 25% market share in loans. The new service, structured from the central offices, includes a commercial welcome package, an administrative support system coordinated by legal and tax firms, and direct connection channels with local suppliers.
Jorge Sicilia and Carlos Serrano, directors of BBVA Research, analyzed the macroeconomic trends driving the Mexican logistics market, particularly its integration into the manufacturing chains of the United States. The program's objective is to mitigate the uncertainty for foreign operators, shortening installation times and ensuring stable interlocutors for company investments.
