Representatives from the Popular Party of Madrid have denounced the alleged lack of transparency and abandonment by the Government of Spain regarding investments for the C-5 commuter line, affecting the Community of Madrid and its municipalities.

The spokesperson for Transport of the Popular Party of Madrid has expressed dissatisfaction with the management of the Government of Spain, accusing it of sidelining the Community of Madrid in terms of investments and providing misleading information to mayors and citizens about the funds allocated for the C-5 commuter line.
These criticisms emerged after a meeting in the Congress with the Popular Parliamentary Group and a delegation of mayors and spokespersons from municipalities along the C-5 line. The purpose of the meeting was the alleged investment announced by the Executive in this railway infrastructure.

"We have come to meet with the Popular Parliamentary Group in Congress to discuss the alleged investment to be made in the C-5 commuter line. We are doing it here because the Government has not informed us, as the Popular Party of Madrid, nor the Assembly, nor the municipalities, about what this investment entails."

According to the spokesperson, the Popular Party of Madrid has not received official information from the Government regarding the details of the intervention on the C-5, neither in the Assembly of Madrid nor in the involved city councils. The only available information, according to their statements, comes from the PSOE's social media and official dissemination channels, leading to suspicions that the Executive and the Minister of Transport might be "lying to the municipalities".
Regarding the announced figure of 1.300 million euros for investments in the C-5 line, the spokesperson described it as "invented" and criticized the absence of budgetary support. They compared the situation to a "car without an engine" if it lacks a budgetary vote, rendering it "worthless".
Furthermore, it has been reported that the new trains presented by the minister are not compatible with current stations, which would prevent their operation. It is argued that "neither the stations have been extended sufficiently, nor are the Móstoles workshops prepared, nor is the security system" necessary for their functioning.
Finally, the spokesperson concluded that the Government, described as "the supposed Government 'of the people and the social shield,'" is abandoning citizens and workers who rely on Cercanías for their commutes, suggesting that the situation is due to it being Madrid.
