The Civil Guard has dismantled a criminal group dedicated to home burglaries in the Community of Madrid and Guadalajara, recovering a significant amount of stolen goods.

The operation, named Habitat Junco, led to the dismantling of a gang specializing in residential assaults. The investigation began in February after an increase in burglaries was detected in the southwest of the Community of Madrid.
The criminals, three men aged between 25 and 49, targeted isolated homes, gaining entry by forcing windows or sliding doors after jumping perimeter fences. Their modus operandi allowed them to commit between three and four robberies in a single afternoon or night, primarily stealing jewelry, watches, designer handbags, and cash.
To execute their crimes, the group would first steal high-end vehicles, changing their license plates to avoid identification. These cars were used for both surveillance and the commission of the robberies, and were later abandoned and burned in vacant lots to destroy any evidence.
To date, robberies have been clarified in several towns including Cubas de la Sagra, Batres, Torrejón de Velasco, Serranillos del Valle, Griñón, El Álamo, Torrelaguna, El Vellón, Venturada, Cabanillas del Campo, and Nambroca. During searches in homes in Yuncos and Ugena, in Toledo province, numerous stolen items and specialized tools were recovered.
The arrested individuals, who have previous records for crimes against property, have been brought before the competent judicial authority, which has ordered their imprisonment. The group's leader, the oldest member, had previously led other gangs involved in robberies in the Community of Madrid.
