Construction crane collapses in Madrid, damaging several buildings

The incident in the Tetuán district, which caused no injuries, led to the precautionary evacuation of one home.

A construction crane collapsed on Monday in the Tetuán district of Madrid, causing damage to a building under construction and nearby properties, with no injuries reported.

The incident occurred at a building under construction located at number 27, Calle Francisco de Sales. Several units from the Madrid City Council Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to secure the area and assess the damage.
The structure's fall also affected a property at number 19, Calle Castilla, causing damage to two terraces and the roof of a storage unit facility. It also impacted the roof of a home at number 60, Calle Tenerife.
As a precautionary measure, the family residing in the home on Calle Tenerife was evacuated, as were the occupants of the construction building. The Madrid City Council Fire Department is currently working on securing the affected areas.
In coordination with the construction company, the damaged crane will be dismantled. SAMUR paramedics were present at the scene as a precaution, and the Madrid Municipal Police Drone Unit also collaborated in the operation.
