According to the union, this situation leaves 326 officers from recent promotions in "legal and economic uncertainty" by not being appointed career civil servants. They have been working as probationary officers for over three months, which entails lower salaries and a lack of full work-life balance rights.
“"The Administration is passing the cost of its own failed management onto the staff."
The origin of this conflict dates back to a final ruling in May 2024 that annulled the cut-off score for promotion 54. However, the union's complaint indicates that the General Directorate of Municipal Police has extended this blockage to promotions 53 and 55, due to the convergence of applicants in the same training periods.
Despite judicial warnings not to empty the content of the rulings, the union states that the appointment resolutions were postponed on February 11, leaving those affected in a "clear state of helplessness".
In addition to administrative problems, the CSIF criticizes the reduction of vacation periods for this summer. The Madrid City Council justifies these cuts by the need for personnel to cover the Pope's visit and major motorsport events, such as Formula 1, planned for the capital.
The union believes that these decisions are being imposed unilaterally, without proper planning or dialogue. They have demanded the immediate opening of negotiation talks to establish a new Sectoral Agreement that restores professional and economic stability to the workforce.
