The Community of Madrid has celebrated the sixth edition of ESÓpera, a program designed to introduce opera to students in 3rd and 4th year of ESO, aiming to foster an appreciation for bel canto as a cultural and artistic expression.

In this edition, 56 students from 12 public educational centers actively participated, with six ultimately being recognized as winners. The diploma ceremony took place at a special event held at the Teatro Real.
Over the preceding trimester, participants developed various projects about opera, utilizing creative formats such as videos, models, comics, and poems. Each center selected five proposals for the competition, which were judged on their creativity, originality, quality, and artistic inspiration.
The awarded centers include the schools Manuel Bartolomé Cossío, Santísimo Sacramento, and Arenales, all located in Madrid. Also recognized were the institutes Sierra de Guadarrama in Soto del Real, Ágora in Alcobendas, and Jane Goodall, situated in the capital.
The winning students will have the opportunity to attend exclusive educational sessions at the Teatro Real. There, industry professionals will provide them with a firsthand look at the entire opera creation process, from costume and set design to the selection of performers, offering a comprehensive insight into the lyrical art form.
