The Minister of Environment, Agriculture, and Interior, Carlos Novillo, presided over a colloquium at the emblematic Madrid bullring to review the bullfighter's distinguished career and his deep connection to the venue.
As part of the recognition, a commemorative tile was unveiled in the lower stands of section 1. This piece adds Curro Vázquez's image to the permanent gallery of distinguished figures that already adorn this space, joining names such as Dámaso González, Andrés Hernando, and José María Manzanares Sr..
The bullfighter, originally from Linares, has left an indelible mark on the history of Spanish bullfighting by participating in over 80 'paseíllos' (walk-ons) at Las Ventas, considered one of the most prestigious bullrings worldwide.
This tribute coincides with his receiving the National Tauromachy Award, the profession's highest honor, which he was awarded this year for his memorable performance on October 12th.
