Collado Villalba Concludes Harp Workshops with Conference and Concert

The Municipal School of Music and Dance in Collado Villalba is bringing the 2026 Harp Workshops to a close with a conference by harpist María Rosa Calvo-Manzano and a student concert.

The Municipal School of Music and Dance of Collado Villalba is hosting the final events of the 2026 Harp Workshops this week. The closing activities include a conference by the renowned harpist María Rosa Calvo-Manzano, after whom the school is named, and a marathon concert featuring harp students from various Madrid conservatories.
These events will serve as a prelude to the main tribute dedicated to Calvo-Manzano, scheduled for next Saturday, May 22nd, at the prestigious National Auditorium of Madrid.
The conference, titled "The Harp in the History of Humanity: A Small History of Our History," will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, May 20th, at 7:00 PM in the EMMD Auditorium. It presents a unique opportunity to explore the beautiful history of this instrument with one of its greatest international champions.
The closing event of the Harp Workshops will be a marathon concert, scheduled for Friday, May 22nd, at 5:00 PM. This concert will feature harp students from different conservatories across the Community of Madrid.
Both events will be held at the EMMD Auditorium, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
