Chamartín Concludes Sports Season with 8,000 Participants

The Chamartín district in Madrid has wrapped up its sports season with the celebration of the 46th Municipal Sports Games and the Spring Cup, events that brought together over 8,000 athletes and culminated in an awards ceremony.

The Community of Madrid, through the district's councilor, Yolanda Estrada, recognized the efforts of outstanding participants and teams after a season filled with activity and competition. The ceremony was held at the Chamartín Municipal Sports Center, emphasizing the importance of sports for the neighborhood's life.
Estrada highlighted "the sport, the effort, and the coexistence that have brought life to the district's sports facilities throughout the season," underscoring the role of these competitions in the area's social cohesion.
The figures from this edition confirm the initiative's success: the Municipal Sports Games involved 390 teams and 5,398 participants. Meanwhile, the Spring Cup gathered 2,740 athletes across 215 teams, according to information from the Madrid City Council.
Among the awardees was Martina Fernández, champion of the children's female chess in the Municipal Sports Games and runner-up in the Community of Madrid. Special mentions were also given to the Santa Catalina A children's futsal team and the Colegio Fuentelarreyna A children's female volleyball team, both champions in their respective categories.
Other teams recognized for their performance in the final stage of the games included the CDE Paraíso A mixed U-12 basketball team, the Team Runnymede U-18 female volleyball team, and the Highland El Encinar A U-12 volleyball team.
