Railway manager Adif has scheduled the final stage of the Atocha Cercanías station remodeling for the summer period. This intervention, aimed at optimizing the capacity of the Sol tunnel and improving operational reliability, will impact lines C-2, C-5, C-7, C-8a, C-8b, and C-10.
The service reconfiguration includes significant changes to routes. For instance, the C-2 line will operate via the contour track, while the C-10 line will limit its service between Villalba and Delicias. Additionally, a total closure remains in effect on the C-5 line between Villaverde Alto and Embajadores until August 16th, with shuttle trains provided to cover the affected section.
The project, backed by a 56 million euro investment funded by European resources, will implement a new track layout (4+4+2). This arrangement is primarily designed to increase rail traffic fluidity, particularly during peak morning hours.
