Curated by Semíramis González, this exhibition is a co-production with LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in Gijón, where it will travel after its run in Madrid. The exhibition will be open to the public until April 4, 2027.
The artistic proposal includes ten installations, most of them created specifically for this project, which offer a critical reflection on contemporary society. Sala's work addresses issues such as migration, the environmental crisis, the tensions of capitalism, and the dislocation of the present, solidifying his career as a benchmark for art understood as a tool of resistance.

Among the most notable works is the series Biblioteca de Babel (Library of Babel), where books are transformed into artifacts of memory and discourse. Additionally, neon pieces incorporate slogans into the exhibition space, and the Washings, sculptures of intervened globes, allude to the processes of "washing" in global capitalism.
The exhibition offers a symbolic journey through concepts such as control, borders, and memory, creating a visual archive of contemporary conflicts and questioning the transformation of social problems into consumer objects. With this project, CentroCentro reaffirms its commitment to institutional collaboration in artistic production, within the framework of its new programmatic phase.
Furthermore, Avelino Sala will participate in September in a series of artist workshops organized by the center. The artist, born in Gijón in 1972 and residing in Madrid, has an extensive international career, with presence in biennials and art centers across Europe and America, and has received numerous awards and grants.
Important Note: The exhibition will be temporarily closed starting May 7 due to renovation work at the Palacio de Cibeles. The reopening date will be announced through CentroCentro's official channels.
