Damaged pedestrian overpass from a crane truck collision on Madrid's M-500, with blurred emergency lights.

A self-loading crane truck has collided with a pedestrian overpass on the M-500 near the Club de Campo in Madrid, resulting in significant structural damage and one minor injury.

The incident occurred around 1:30 PM on Saturday, August 22. Three occupants were in the truck's cabin; one received attention from SAMUR-Civil Protection for contusions and was taken to Hospital Clínico San Carlos for further evaluation.
Madrid City Firefighters initiated a complex operation to remove the truck's boom, which was carrying construction materials and had become lodged against the pedestrian viaduct. The maneuver required the support of a heavy-duty crane and the removal of road elements.
After securing the vehicle and clearing the road, emergency teams proceeded to assess the affected overpass. For safety reasons, the structure has been cordoned off and declared unusable for pedestrians, pending a technical inspection to determine the extent of the damage.
Madrid Municipal Police are managing traffic in the affected section of the M-500 and are preparing the official report to ascertain the exact causes of the impact.
