These events, which require prior registration, will take place at the central headquarters in Madrid and in other cities such as A Coruña, Alicante, Badajoz, Barcelona, Bilbao, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Murcia, Palma, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Seville, Valencia, Valladolid, and Zaragoza. The initiative is part of the Open Government Partnership and is organized in Spain by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function.
The Bank of Spain's program includes in-person, online, and hybrid sessions, designed to explain the impact of its functions on society, the services it offers, and the richness of its heritage. Among the highlighted activities, a special episode of the CIENxCIEN podcast will be recorded with a live audience.
Additionally, talks will be given on current economic topics such as inflation, the digital euro, and artificial intelligence. Practical workshops will also be offered to learn how to identify authentic banknotes and financial education seminars, essential for personal economic management.
With younger audiences in mind, family activities have been organized to encourage discussions about money with children. The little ones can participate in workshops to create their own stained glass, inspired by those adorning the institution's building. The full program and registration forms are available on the Bank of Spain's website, with a registration deadline of May 14 at 2:00 PM.
“"The objective of Open Government Week is to bring Public Administrations closer to citizens based on the principles of Open Government: transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity, and collaboration."
Through this initiative, the Bank of Spain seeks to demonstrate how its activities directly influence society and how its cultural heritage can be shared with all citizens, promoting a greater understanding of its role.
