The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the capital's mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, have expressed their solidarity with the Venezuelan people following two earthquakes that have affected the northwest of the country.

Two earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, have struck northwestern Venezuela, with the district of Caracas also among the affected areas.
Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid, conveyed a message of support on her X account: "Venezuela, always. All our affection, help, and encouragement from Madrid".
For his part, the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, stated: "Madrid wakes up dismayed by the news coming from Venezuela. All our solidarity and affection with our brotherly people".
Both leaders have thus wished to convey the support of the Madrid institutions to both the Venezuelan citizens affected by the earthquakes and the Venezuelan community residing in the region.
