The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, met this Monday with Pope Leo XIV in a private encounter held at the Apostolic Nunciature in Spain, in Madrid.

The private audience took place at 4:00 PM, as part of the Pontiff's official agenda during his visit to the country. This meeting occurs on the third day of the Holy Father's apostolic journey to Spain, which includes speeches and events honoring the Virgin of Almudena.
This is not the first time Díaz Ayuso has met with Pope Leo XIV; the regional president had previously traveled to the Vatican for an audience where she presented him with a publication on Catholic values in Madrid society.
Hours before the meeting, Ayuso highlighted to the press that the Pope's visit could foster reflections on international issues such as migration and the impact of new technologies, advocating for Christian humanism as a reference point for addressing these challenges.
