Accident in San Blas: Eight injured after VTC, car, and police vehicle collision

Eight people were injured this Sunday in a traffic accident that occurred at the intersection of Alcalá Street and Miguel Yuste Street, in the Madrid district of San Blas, involving a VTC, a car, and a National Police patrol vehicle.

The incident took place around 4:30 PM and required the intervention of the Madrid City Council Firefighters, who rescued the car's driver. They subsequently secured the other vehicles involved.
Samur-Civil Protection paramedics attended to the eight affected individuals at the scene and transported them to various hospitals in the capital.
The car's driver was evacuated to La Paz Hospital with a potentially serious prognosis due to a possible hip fracture. The two National Police officers involved sustained minor bruises and were taken to Infanta Leonor Hospital.
The VTC driver received treatment for a chest contusion, a shoulder injury, and a leg contusion, and was transferred to Ramón y Cajal Hospital. The other four occupants of the VTC suffered minor bruises and were admitted to La Princesa Hospital.
The Municipal Police of Madrid has launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
