The contest, which honors the memory of Juan Carlos Argüello, considered the first Spanish graffiti artist and a resident of the Campamento neighborhood, primarily aims to keep his legacy alive and transform the urban landscape through citizen creativity.
Those interested in participating must submit their proposal via an online form, attaching the required documentation, a sketch of the design, the work's title, and a brief description of its theme. The call is open to any individual residing in Spain, aged 14 or older, and not employed by the Madrid City Council. The deadline for submitting ideas, which can be of any theme, is July 5.
The contest aims to keep his memory alive, as well as transform the urban environment through the participation of citizens with artistic interests.
The competition will award a total of 1,500 euros in prizes. The first-place winner will receive 800 euros, a diploma, and a commemorative trophy. The second prize is 400 euros and a diploma, while the third prize will be 300 euros and a diploma. Additionally, the winner will have the opportunity to create their graffiti on the wall of the Gallur Municipal Sports Center.
