The High Court of Justice of Madrid has upheld the 33-year prison sentence imposed on a member of a Latin gang for three attempted homicides that occurred in December 2023 outside a nightclub in Carabanchel.

The ruling dismisses the appeal filed by the defense, thereby endorsing the previous decision by the Provincial Court of Madrid. This judicial decision considers that the evidence presented during the trial is sufficient to prove the direct involvement of the accused in the events.
The incidents took place on December 23, 2023, when the convicted individual, along with other unidentified subjects, approached the vicinity of the Fénix nightclub, located at Avenida de la Emperatriz Isabel number 13 in Madrid. There, carrying large bladed weapons, they attacked several people.

During the assault, the aggressors used machetes against the victims while shouting «Patria» and the highlighted phrase. The appeals court has also confirmed the compensation for the victims, amounting to 50,000 euros, 7,077 euros, and 3,007 euros respectively.
In addition to the prison sentence, a prohibition of approaching and communicating with the victims has been established for a period of five years. Once the custodial sentence is served, the convicted individual will be subject to a supervised release measure.
