The local Government team has described the decision by the Community of Madrid as a "new blunder" and part of an "effort to dismantle public healthcare." The official communication received indicates that the closure is due to works at the primary care center in plaza de Ondarreta, where the service is located, and that it will be temporarily relocated to the Jaime Vera Medical Specialties Center in Coslada. The council criticizes that the duration of the works has not been communicated nor an alternative within the municipality itself has been sought.
“"We do not understand why our city always has to be harmed by these types of decisions when, moreover, we have another health center where this service could be offered, thus avoiding our residents having to travel to another town."
The City Council will send a letter to express its "absolute disagreement" and demand a solution that guarantees continuous healthcare within the municipality. It calls for "greater transparency" regarding the duration of the works.
