The Paracuellos de Jarama City Council, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Senior Care and Dependency of the Community of Madrid, has organized a free cardiovascular health workshop for residents over 60 years old, to be held on April 17 at the Senior Center.

With the aim of promoting active and healthy aging, the Paracuellos de Jarama City Council has launched the workshop “Heart Care and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention”. This activity is designed to provide residents over 60 years old with practical tools and essential knowledge about the circulatory system.
The initiative, a result of collaboration with the General Directorate for Senior Care and Dependency of the Community of Madrid, seeks to emphasize prevention as the most effective strategy to avoid long-term medical complications. The workshop will offer an opportunity to answer questions and adopt habits that improve daily quality of life.
The event will take place on Friday, April 17, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, making it easier for participants to attend. The venue will be the Senior Center, located at Calle Algete number 7, an accessible and comfortable space for all attendees.
The workshop program is comprehensive and addresses key aspects of cardiovascular health. Participants will learn to recognize warning symptoms and how to act quickly in an emergency, which is crucial for saving lives. Additionally, observational exercises will be conducted to identify cardiovascular risks, and low-impact activation exercises will be practiced, along with pulse-taking and breathing control techniques.
A fundamental component of the workshop will be stress management and emotional well-being. Significant time will be dedicated to relaxation techniques, recognizing the vital role of the mind in heart health. The content is adapted for those over 60 years old, using clear and accessible language so that advice can be easily applied at home.
Spaces are limited and require prior registration. The registration period opens on Wednesday, April 8, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Senior Citizen Service Office, located on the first floor of the same building at Calle Algete, 7.
