IMDEA Agua hosted the eighth follow-up meeting of the VALDESC project on October 20th at its facilities, an initiative that seeks to promote circular economy and reduce the carbon footprint of the construction sector.

During the day, project partners reviewed the technical and administrative progress achieved to date, as well as the upcoming milestones in the work schedule. The meeting also served to strengthen coordination among participating entities and the results obtained in the various research lines. The day concluded with a visit to the IMDEA Agua facilities.
The VALDESC project (Innovative solutions for the promotion of complex C&DW valorization and decarbonization of the construction sector in the Community of Madrid) is led by SURGE AMBIENTAL. It involves the participation of VALORIZA, SACYR, MOGENSEN, SIKA, HORMICRUZ, KNAUF, HOLCIM, ADCORE, FORESTBANK, and LAYERMD. It also has the support of the Research and Technological Development Center TECNALIA, the Eduardo Torroja Institute for Construction Sciences CSIC-IETcc, and IMDEA AGUA itself.
Within the framework of VALDESC, IMDEA Agua contributes its expertise in environmental quality, resource valorization, and circular economy, developing scientific knowledge to help transform complex waste into new materials and higher value-added products.
