The town of Velilla de San Antonio celebrated a notable sporting day on Sunday, September 20th, with the thirty-fourth edition of the Urban Mile. The race, which started at 11:00 AM on Federico García Lorca street, achieved resounding success in terms of turnout, registering close to 400 registrations, significantly surpassing the 223 participants from the 2025 edition.
The Councillor for Sports, Silvia Castillo, thanked the town's commitment to sports and highlighted the work of Civil Protection, the Local Police, and the municipal workers. She made special mention of the Velilla Athletics Club for their indispensable contribution to the event's success. The City Council also extended its gratitude to the usual sponsor, Ahorramas supermarkets, and to the residents for their support.
The event unfolded in a festive atmosphere and included the crowning of winners in the ten categories contested, ranging from the 'Chupetes' (Pacifiers) category to 'Veteranos 2' (Veterans 2). The event reaffirms its inclusive nature and its ability to bring together athletes of all ages.
